Our simple approach to what sustainability means is basically seeing it as a “process” that involves many elements. Our philosophy is to create an environmentally and socially responsible workplace that can benefit all. From using the slogan “Going Green” to becoming “Eco-Friendly” we finally consider ourselves a sustainable restaurant. We have adopted about 46 changes in our practice to help the environment and save money, measuring the economic and environmental impact with every change. From being almost zero waste, to engaging in social entrepreneurship, to helping communities in need, we are proud of our sustainable process and what it entails.

A few examples of our sustainable efforts include:

  • Recycling
  • Compost all waste
  • Reduced water usage
  • Energy efficient light bulbs
  • Nest thermostat
  • Recycled menu paper
  • Energy conservation
  • Water conservation
  • Pollution prevention
  • Sustainable food procurement

Taranta highly believes in education, which is why we focus on training our staff through experiences, so that they can share those experiences with you. We support education at all levels, and our involvement with local schools, colleges and universities is very strong. As one of our missions to support the education of all children, Taranta is currently sponsoring a school in the Ancash region of Peru in junction with the Santa Cruz Lodge. We hope to make a difference in the lives of each child there, and you are helping us to do that as well, so thank you. Stay tuned for some great photography from the students of that school!

This, in turn, led to the realization of what we can do as consumers to stop and create awareness for current day farmers, to be sure they are all treated with equality.

Taranta actively participates in fundraising events to support local charities such as:
