Day 1

Saturday  September   26   2009   ARRIVAL   TO   LIMA

PM Arrival to Lima Airport, Chef Jose Duarte will meet you at the Costa del Sol Airport Hotel, perhaps to have a drink or a light snack. Accommodations this evening are at The Costa del Sol Hotel in the Airport of Lima.

ALSO   OPTION   TO   ARRIVE   September   27 AM  and  meet  at  the  airport  to  transfer  to  Cusco

Day 2

Sunday   September   27   2009   LIMA - CUSCO

Breakfast at Hotel, briefing and introduction to our week of Culinary Adventure featuring Street food of Peru. Check in and Flight to Cusco. Arrival to Cusco, quick stop en La Plaza for a Tamalito and then travel to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Enjoy a Coca Leave Tea and Lemonade with Muna that will help you climatize. Continue travel to Pisac Market where we will try a Choclo con queso and Baked empanadas for lunch. Check in at ARANWA AQUA Hotel located in the old Hacienda Yaravilca in Huayllabamba, a 5 star Hotel with one of the best Spas in the area, rest and relax, and enjoy dinner at the  Hotel Restaurant where you will be able to participate in the making of Empanadas and other local dishes using an old brick oven. Day 3

Monday   September   28   2009   MACHU PICCHU

Breakfast at Hotel then early departure to train station in Ollantaytambo, to board train to Aguas Calientes Visit Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas Since its discovery in 1911, Machu Picchu has not ceased to arouse the interest and admiration of people from all over the planet. Few works made by mankind fit into their natural surroundings so harmoniously. Only on few occasions has the human ingenuity achieved such heights. From here, the epithet "marvelous" falls short when applied to this work of the Inca Civilization and to the beauty of its imposing natural scenery Lunch will be in Aguas Calientes returning to Ollantaytambo in the afternoon. Gourmet dinner at “El Huacatay” with chef Pio Velasquez where you will have the chance of trying Coca Leave gnocchi!  Accomodations at the AQUA ARANWA B/L/D

Day 4

Tuesday   September   29   2009   MARAS - CUSCO

Breakfast at Hotel, Visit to Maras, a picturesque town, and its closer salt mines from the Inca era that are still worked today. Then visit archaeological site of Moray composed of a series of concentric agricultural terraces, some as deep as 150m. This is thought to have been a large agricultural laboratory where the Incas were able to create different microclimates to adapt crops. We will enjoy a “Pachamanca for lunch in Piuray lagoon at 13,500 feet with Chef Pio Velazques, learn all about Native Potatoes and local ingredients. Continue the way to Cusco, This mythical and legendary city makes you recover the lost pleasure of walking aimlessly, of watching people, of imagining mysterious events in remote times. Check in Casa Andina Classic. B/L

Day 5

Wednesday   September   30   2009   CUSCO

Breakfast at hotel, Morning visot to Koricancha - Santo Domingo,   and  the spectacular Cathedral  the short walk to el Mercado de San Pedro, where we will learn about the ingredients from the area. Lunch at el Mercado, free afternoon, shopping and relaxation or if you are interested we can arrange for a visit to Sachayhuaman, Quenko and Tambomachay for an additional cost. Our Cusco farewell dinner is at LIMO Restaurant. Accomodations at the Casa Andina Classic. B/L/D

Day 6

Thursday   October   1   2009   LIMA

Breakfast at Hotel, AM Departure to Cusco Airport to Flight to Lima, Arrival to Lima and meet our Host Chef Gonzalo Angosto travelling to the Callao District visiting La Pescaderia de Chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino, tasting Pan con Pejerrey and Ceviches and other local dishes continuing then to Taberna de Queirolo in Pueblo Libre for a Butifarra and a Pisco tasting. Check in Hotel Casa Andina Classic San Antonio in Miraflores.B/L

Day 7

Friday   October   2   2009    Mercado   and   Tour   of   Lima

Breakfast at Hotel, Morning Guided visit to el Mercado de Surquillo, learn about local fruits and vegetables. Lunch at Yamakawa restaurant, near the market featuring a delicious Seafood Tacu Tacu and Ceviche. Tour of food Carretillas, try Anticuchos and Picarones one of the most representative street food of Peru, all guided by Chef Gonzalo Angosto and Historian Miguel Rubio, evening visit of the center of Lima visiting a couple of eateries explaining the evolution of our street food. Accomodations at the Casa Andina Classic San Antonio, Mraflores  B/L/D

Day 8

Saturday   October    4   2009 Pachacamac

Breakfast at Hotel and then travel to Pachacamac for a Lunch Cooking demo by Chef Gonzalo Angosto at “La Gloria del Campo” Restaurant. Farewell Dinner at TBD Restaurant  (TBD) Accommodations at the Casa Andina Classic San Antonio B/L/D

Breakfast and checkout, transfer to Airport, departure to USA.

End of March 2010 we will have two trips planned as a part of our "Gourmet Adventure" series, a high scale, 4-5 star accomodations trip, visiting the Best restaurants and exploring the cuisine, finalizing with a Hands on Cooking Class at "Le Cordon Bleu" in Lima
